Bennett Rea

About

Bennett Rea is a writer, editor and communications specialist with a focus on politics, food and the environment. He has helped clients obtain media placements in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, CNN, HuffPost, Marketplace and more while writing for Cracked, The Hill and Food & Wine. Bennett trained in improvisation and comedy at Improv Olympic and UCB Los Angeles, which helps explain the development of his most famous project, Cookin' with Congress.

In the past four years, Bennett has gained notoriety for Cookin' with Congress, a blog and series where he recreates and tastes the favorite foods and real homespun recipes of politicians. Bennett's work around this topic has 20 million views in 2024 alone and has been featured on Gastro Obscura, The Los Angeles Times, NPR, NBC Los Angeles, Yahoo and more, and he has given lectures on the strange nexus of food & politics for colleges and universities. When he was six years old, he wanted to be the President of the United States and a chef at the same time, so it all makes sense.
